论“无知”在数字时代的积极意义——兼与刘洋教授商榷

摘要: 重新审视“无知”这一长期被负面看待的认知状态,或能为我们理解当下的认知困境提供另一条思想路径。首先,无知并不只有负面的内在价值。在认知共同体的形成与运作中,基于彼此信任的“辩护上的无知”,构成了社会交往与知识协作的底层支撑,展现出无知的正面构成性价值。其次,从中国哲学的传统智慧来看,“主动无知”作为一种自觉的认知超越与生存实践,展现出重要的工具性价值。它帮助我们在“数字泔水”泛滥的信息环境中保持清醒,超越经验层面的知识束缚,从而接近更高层次的智慧与更理想的生活境界。因此,重估“无知”的积极意义,可以为数字时代中维系个体的认知自主、重建共同体信任、摆脱被动消费与生产的循环,提供一个新的哲学视角。

Abstract: In the digital age, human attention is systematically drawn into the logic of capital accumulation. While this is an indisputable fact, it has also given rise to numerous critiques. Against this backdrop, re-examining “ignorance”—a cognitive state long viewed negatively—may offer an alternative pathway for understanding contemporary cognitive dilemmas. First, ignorance does not possess solely negative intrinsic value. In the formation and functioning of epistemic communities, “justificatory ignorance” grounded in mutual trust constitutes the underlying support for social interaction and knowledge collaboration, revealing the positive constitutive value of ignorance. Second, from the perspective of traditional Chinese philosophical wisdom, “active ignorance” as a conscious cognitive transcendence and existential practice demonstrates significant instrumental value. It helps individuals maintain clarity in an information environment saturated with “digital slop”, transcending the constraints of experiential knowledge, thereby approaching higher wisdom and more ideal modes of living.
